Journalist Intern

Primary responsibilities

Writing articles for special interest websites

Duties include

  • Researching all aspects of related topics and writing articles related to those topics.
  • Working with management to identify and prioritize articles.

Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge and skill in utilizing Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent fast, creative writing and editing skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of internet and email
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal management oversight
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Acutely sensitive to deadlines/timelines

Requirements

Candidates: Students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university; Recent graduates interested in gaining writing experience; Persons who have a passion for writing seeking to gain experience. All are welcome and encouraged to apply. We accept 25 interns each term.
Candidates must be able to commit to the following: 10 hours per week minimum, submit 5 articles per week minimum for 15 weeks.

Details

The hours are flexible. We offer both in-house and telecommuting opportunities. We are located in Schaumburg, Illinois (NORTHWEST SUBURB of CHICAGO, IL). This role is a great learning opportunity for a candidate who enjoys writing and is seeking a career in any area of writing.
